Empowering Global Ministries is an Interdenominational Christian church that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are an interdenominational church which celebrates the beliefs of many Christian denominations.
Our Statements of Faith include the Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the HolySpirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen!
The word "catholic" in the Apostles' Creed refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
SACRAMENTS
We practice the two Sacraments that Jesus himself instituted:
Baptism and Holy Communion.
The word sacrament simply means, “An outward sign and inward and spiritual grace.” We believe the Sacraments are a way for us to experience the amazing grace of God. God is the chief actor in the drama of Baptism and Holy Communion. Therefore, we baptize people of all ages because it is a sign of God’s prevenient grace - the grace that comes before our ability to explain or understand what God is doing. The method of Baptism is up to the person or parents. We baptize by sprinkling, pouring or immersion. The amount of water is not what makes the baptism valid. The Holy Spirit is at work invisibly and the water simply points to what God is doing inside the person being baptized.
Holy Communion is a means of God’s grace so that we might receive strength for the journey. This Sacrament reminds us we belong to Christ and we belong to each other. This sacred meal is communal as we seek to remember the loving sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for the sins of the world. Every time we receive this Sacrament we are accepting God’s forgiveness and grace to keep on keeping on and not succumbing to guilt or shame. This Sacrament reminds us to celebrate the victory that is ours through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Jesus is the host, sitting at the head of the Table, he invites all to his Table of mercy and forgiveness. Our Communion is always open.
Come, just as you are, and receive what God desires to give!
